Victimless crimes. wtf is up with them. laws are supposed to protect people's rights, not strip people of them to enforce the morals of the majority on everyone.

speeders endanger other people who have as much right to be on the roads as them. the other people on the road are the victims.
people who smoke weed or drink beers in their own homes are not affecting other people. fortunately, most adults (those not between 18-20) still have the right to drink alcohol, but for some reason weed is illegal.

Victimless crimes sometimes lead to people getting hurt. Imagine smoking a lot of weed and then driving a car, you can defend the effects of weed all you want but you are impaired and the chances of crashing will go up.

It dulls the brain and slows the reflexes. Heavy usage/abuse makes you unfit to perform even simple work.
Society has a right to expect you to perform a job earning money to uphold your own existence (unless you are disabled).

Governments do not pass these laws to take away your rights, they do it to protect you and your fellow citizens from harm. This includes harm, you might inflict upon yourself knowingly or unwittingly. The law enforcement officers are charged with upholding those laws,- that is their job.

Do not blame them for doing it, instead of sitting at home getting stoned!

Smoking weed is also like cigarettes on steroids, horrible for the lungs and can cause cancer.

Weed however is harmless if smoked out of a vaporizer!

Yes weed does damage if you take it over a long period of time, but I guess the government forgot the damage that alcoholism does. I love the ideology of how people justify themselves by saying its for your own good, as if people are expecting to believe it without actually experiencing it. If people do say that x drug is bad without experiencing or knowing why, then simply they are ignorant and stupid.

The ideology of the law which you speak of, is the same ideology which Kevin Rudd is implementing for mandatory censorship over the internet in Australia.

I live in The Netherlands ( and please stop being a retarded and calling Amsterdam a country ) and weed and alcohol are legal ( alcohol at the age of 16 and weed at 18 ).

Ironically enough, people in America, Great Britain etc smoke more weed than we do. "The forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest" really applies here.

Surely smoking weed once in a while won't hurt, but you're retarded ( and will become even more ) if you start doing it regularly. I pity people who screw up their lives by smoking weed
